Here is my interview, it's about me, conducted by me. I "borrowed" some of the questions from Mike's Interview (Hope that's ok). Some of this is also from my last interview.

------------

Q: Who are you, and what do you do?

I am known by many names but you may call me Brian. I don't do a whole lot but I am a mediocre, unemployed community college student.

I did like Nitz's description of himself & felt it was very close to who I think I am: I’m an unusual person who’s lived a pretty usual life. My story is sort of a nerd’s sob story; picked on by more popular kids, has few friends, spends most of his time alone, into things that 99% of the rest of the world ignores. I don’t relate to most people and tend to be very shy until you get to know me. I guess that’s why so much of my social life is with online comics fans; everyone comes into the hobby alone, and makes connections from there.

Q: Where you at currently?

In what? But, I live in Shoreline, Washington. It's a city right next to Seattle. Use to be a part of Seattle, until it annexed it's self & became it's own city a few years ago.

Q: How’s life treating you so far?

Ok, I guess. And yourself?

Q: Good. Moving on! What brought you here?

Here? I guess I would say: The Bus! *Laughs* But, I came to the PV by way of Scott Bryan AKA ag. In December of 2001, I found found Micro Heroes. Interesting side note: They were first made by Donar, another PV poster. But, I found them, liked them & created some of my own. Then, the two sites, I knew of, went away. One came back, with a new look to them, the micros & site. I asked the owner of the site, Robert Bradley, if there were some MH (Micro Hero) templates, there were & he sent them to me. I also said there were a group of MH creators if I wanted to join I could get all the newest micros, I joined. I made some of Comic Book Characters. But, I've mostly gone of & started doing my own characters.

Q: Earth Ranchburger ?

Yes, because at that time, my online name was Tobias Ranchburger. So as a tip of the hat to classic DC with all their different earths, I grouped all these character on a planet called Earth Ranchburger. Their main team is called the RGA, the Rightness Guild of America, a sort of JLA meets Avengers type group. I was happy just doing these micros. Then, I was asked by ag if I wanted to write stories about these people on a message board. He is also part of the MH group, along with Donar. I turned Scott down at first, but kept talking to him. I had writing one story before & it was a creative writing piece for school. It had nothing to do with super heroes, but did fit into the Parodyverse (sort of). So, I finally broke down & posted the story as Tobias Ranchburger. That was the beginning to one long strange trip!

Q: Why did you start posting here (Parodyverse)?

Scott, then because I wanted to. Read some stuff, liked it. So, the writing began (which sucked). But, I stuck to it & it's only sucks some of the time now.

Q: What do you like about the PVB?

The Community. Even thought I think most of us have never met each other in person, I feel that I know most of these people. Sometimes better then people I know in person, which is sort of sad.

Q: What’s your take on the current state of the board?

It's a roller coaster: People get on, they the waves of creativity. Some get off while some get on (Some are returning riders, which so totally rocks!) & it's all happens yet again.

Q: Looking at yourself as a writer, what do you think are your strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths: Uh? I'm must have some. I have a good sense of humor!

Weaknesses: Everything coming out as humor (Sometimes I just want to write a depressing story!) Also, my lack of the ability to write good endings. There's is also no real strong character development. There are other things but I can't think of them.

Q: What other disappointments do you have?

A lot. But with my writing mostly is my inability to write any story line that is longer then 2 parts (I plan stories that are longer then that, but haven't written them). I have half finished stories littering my hard drive that I'm not sure I'll ever get back to. I also tended to "drop" characters a lot, I devote all my time & energy to an character, then stop & then go to the next character. So, I've left a few things (This is apparent in the Ham-Boy stories).

Q: Enough with the pity party, snap out of it! *Slaps Brian across the face a few times* On with the positives! What are you most proud of?

I'm not sure. I'm sure there is something. I think I'm just to hard on myself so I don't see the positives, only the negatives.

Q: What are your characters’ niches?

Lee Bookman: Intellectual Super Hero
Chad & Ronnie: Humor
Ham-Boy: Young, Teen Hero in training. I think he's my most stereotypical super hero.
Semi-Transparent Lad: The Anti-HB or my Reluctant Hero. STL shows a different side of Super Heroes, a side I don't see all that offen in comics.

Q: How do you come up your stories ?

Most times they are just random things. I have a character I want to use, I have an idea I want to put into a story, There's a conversation that sparks an idea. Ideas for my stories come from almost anywhere. Tv, radio, movies, interactions with other people, etc. Most times I have character & then I create a story around them. That's what I did do with Chad & Ronnie. Sometimes I create a character around a costume, which then I create a story around the character that was around the costume, much like I did with Ham-Boy. I have a list of people to use in stories. Some I have connected to other characters, some all I have is a name, some all I have is a comic character there like. Some don't even have a name, just an idea. Sometimes I write a story that I don't like, but I do like a character they will show up again, much like Ham-Boy (There have been 5 different versions of a character called Ham-Boy).

Q: Favorite characters of others to write?

That's a hard one, since I hardly ever write anyone else's characters. I just worry that I'll screw them up & people will hate me. I don't take rejection well, just ask Mary Sue Alice! Wait, you can't because she's Dead! *Laughs an evil Laugh*

Q: Favorite PVMB character ?

Q: Who would you like to work with, writing wise ?

I think HH would be interesting. Maybe a Hooded Hood meets Chad & Ronnie story? Practically, anything with Ian! I wouldn't mind doing a story with Killer Shrike or Nitz, I think those could be interesting stories. I haven't worked with a lot of people, so I open to a collaboration with most anyone from the PV!

Q: Most anyone?

Q: What do you want to see in the PVB this year?

I'd like to see a return of Untold Tales, Scott to finnish CRISIS, More Art, More stories all around! For me: To pick back up some of my dropped characters & more stories!

Q: So, Let’s talk about comics.

ok.

Q: How long have you been collecting them?

Been reading since '94, seriously collecting since '98. As of '01, it was an obsession.

Q: What books have you recently enjoyed?

I've cut back on reading lately but I still do my fair share of comic book reading. (Not a whole lot of money coming in at this point in time & most of the the money I have to do with what I want, goes to comics.)

But, I have been reading The Flash & Exiles regularly. I enjoyed Bill Morrison's Heroes Anonymous, It had a very PV feel to it. I've sort of been reading Teen Titans & the Outsiders. I read the first issue of a book called Hero Squared, I enjoyed it & I'd like to see why it's going.

Q: Favorite creators?

Uh, I don't know. I don't really look at that stuff.

Q: Favorite characters?

I don't have really any "favorite" characters. I'm interested in a few (As Scott could tell, I'm interested in Dr. Doom).

Q: A question everyone on the Parodyverse message board wants to know: How do you feel about Avengers: Dissembled?

I don't know, never read it.

Q: Favorite Comic Book?

WHAT IF ?!

Q: Do you mind if I ask you some random question?

no.

Q: Shoe Size ?

14 or 14 & half. Not sure which.

Q: Do you have a girlfriend ?

No, but I do have friends that are girls or girls that I think of as friends.

Q: Ever been on a date ?

No. What is this Date you speak of? I hear people talking about it all the time.

Q: Favorite TV Show ?

The Adventures of Pete & Pete, hands down best show ever!
