"...and this," said Zebulon, leading Mr Epitome into the room, "is Al B.'s lab...oh look, he's here now."

Al B. looked up from the experiment he was working on and waved a friendly hello to the newest LL'er.

Mr Epitome nodded gruffly in response "Harper." He looked around at the seeming chaos that surrounded him..."What are you working on exactly?" he asked.

"Well, I've been trying to get the frequency of the maximum hypersonic velocity thrust required to ensure total metabolic meltdown of ionic cathode rays." Al B. answered rather matter-of-factly.

Mr Epitome glared. "I assume you're familiar with workplace health and safety regulations 55B, and 832D with regard to hypersonic testing in an enclosed space?"

Al B. brushed back his hair with his hand. "Err..."

"And you really shouldn't have that bubble pipe going with all these bunsen-burners around either." Mr Epitome added, before Al B. had a chance to reply.

The paragon of patriotism's eyes narrowed. "You're not an actual member of the Lair Legion are you? Why not?" he asked.

"That seems to be the question of the moment" interjected HALLIE via the computer interface in the lab.

"Well, no, not exactly. They've never asked me to join." Al B. shrugged. "But I do act as the teams scientific advisor."

"Right, well, we'll have to do something about that." said Dominic Clancy...and with that he stormed out of the lab, with Zebulon running after him.

Al B. and HALLIE looked at each other.

"I wonder what folder I should file his contact details in?" the A.I. queried.

"Uhhh right. Did you see where I placed my bubble liquid?" Al B. asked, rummaging through the lab equipment on the table in front of him.
