[The Scene: Mumphrey is in the bath when the lock improbably fails and Dancer bursts in to speak with him]

Dancer: Sir Mumphrey, what’s all this about you leaving the LL when Finny gets back?

Mumphrey, hastily rearranging the suds and rubber duck: Hmph! I say, young lady…

Dancer: And don’t give me that rubbish about not being a member and all that. You are so a member.

Mumph: Um, actually not, m’dear. Now if you could just pass me that towel…

Dancer, sitting on towels: If you’re not a member I can easily solve that. Just let me get everyone in here and then…

Mumph, hastily: No, no need. But y’see Finny only asked me to do this temporarily until he go back.

Dancer: Yes, but I’m sure he’ll want you to stay around. *glances at vanishing bubbles* We want to see more of you.

Mumph: This may not be the ideal time to discuss this, Dancer. Chap’s bath is not meant to be a spectator sport, what?

Dancer: Oh, sorry. Hold on. *starts to slip leotard off* I’ll join you in a jiffy.

Mumphrey, grabbing flannel and strategically rearranging duck: That really won’t be necessary. Honestly. Don’t feel you need to… Um, yes, I’ll consider staying on, alright. Consider it. Can’t say fairer, right? Don’t you know? What?

Dancer, holding leotard straps: You’ll think about it?

Mumphrey: Thinking about it now, dammit. Oh, staying on? Yes, absolutely. Careful consideration. Now, if you don’t mind, was hoping to conclude bath in peace and quiet. And solitude.

Dancer: I quite understand. *looks puzzled as she observes floor beside bathtub* That’s funny. There’s a loofah down there on the mat. *flashes eyes at Sir Mumphrey’s thinning bubbles* Didn’t know we had two loofahs.

[Dancer leaves, having made a memorable point]

Mumph: Urk.
