In which the mysteries of the Gentlemen’s Club at 144 Chillwater Street, Highgate, London, are explored, and certain historical cases are represented for the interest of the curious. O n October 1st 1881 eight guests were invited to a dinner at Chillwater House. These visitors discovered that each of them had previously encountered and meddled in the affairs of their sinister and manipulative host. After surviving his attempts to eliminate them after dinner, the guest became the charter members of the Monster Hunters Club and began their investigations into the supernatural, the bizarre, and the deadly.Almost two hundred members have swelled the ranks of the Club since their foundation, and the Club has also learned of its links with the much earlier Knights of St George the Monster-Slayer, and the hidden mediaeval Order of the White Touch. Our chronicles have now reached 1951, and the Club is based at the privately-owned Edward Endelby Memorial Library in Harrogate. For the really baffled: The Monster Hunters Club (MHC) is a roleplaying scenario which has run since 1982. In over 2,200 adventures the Club has faced a remarkable variety of menaces and continues its original remit to defend mankind against the things which prey upon them from the shadows. This website is a tool for the players in that campaign to participate in an online scenario, a mystery which they have to solve "in role" as a member of the Monster Hunters Club. Now go back to the Main Page and start playing.
